About the John Liebenberg Hip-Op Initiative

The John Liebenberg Hip-Op Initiative raised money to fund a hip replacement for veteran photojournalist John Liebenberg. Funds were raised from direct contributions and a photography auction, with the surplus used to support other South African photo-documentary initiatives, including the Ernest Cole Award and the Photography
Education Trust.
